One of the most exciting adventures you can go on is chasing your dreams until they become a reality. For me, it was starting a business. This is certainly my most exciting adventure, and also the most rewarding. From an early age, I've always known that I wanted to have my own business, it was a matter of how and what. I met my husband five years ago. He was a local roofer with years of experience who was looking to work as a subcontractor.
At first, roofing did not peak my interest since I'm more of a girly girl and hands on work was always out of my comfort zone. The more I learned about the importance of having a functional roof the more I enjoyed the process of home improvement and started to explore the possibilities of helping homeowners in transforming their home into its best version. So we joined forces and voila, the idea of starting a home improvement business was born.
There’s so much that goes into starting a business, even once you start you will have to put in continuous work to maintain and improve your business. Everyone’s goals are different and not everyone wants to become a business owner but there are a couple of important points to know in order to live your dream no matter what it is you are seeking. First, you must not limit yourself. If you do, you restrain yourself from achieving your maximum potential. It’s all about the possibilities, not the limitations. Having a business is a learning process everyday, and even if I have years of experience in home improvement I will never have all the answers and that is ok. Each day presents new opportunities, and the possibilities of these opportunities should serve to inspire you to work towards your goal.
My favorite part about my job is the impact our work has on people. To Improve not only the appearance of someone's home but also the quality and comfort is satisfying. Seeing client reactions to their upgraded houses always reminds me why I started my journey to begin with. There is almost always something that can be done to improve or maintain a home. That is what I dedicate my business to and I couldn’t ask for a more fulfilling career.
